Our community project

We visited a place in the Jhb CBD today. This building is home to a care facility for young children, as well as a home to abused teenage girls and homeless single young mothers. We entertained 55 kids of between 2 and 7 years old for the day.

My heart broke into pieces when we walked into the area where these kids were playing. They had so little but they were so happy and they were extremely well behaved - I wish my kids were that well behaved!

We rented jumping castles, we painted their faces and had creative activities for them. We also took lots and lots of toys. At lunchtime they all gathered and sat down in the play area patiently waiting for their food. Each and evey one of them thanked us when we gave them their hamburgers.

Very good photography!! A very few of us think about the many disadvantaged children in our community. I think for them it was a day to remember.
