Day 8/365 - Kids

Lately I don't often get a chance to take photos of the kids because they run away when I take out the camera!  LOL ok it's not really THAT bad but it's close.  So I'll just have to make an effort to get more photos of them, they grow up so fast and I really want to capture as much of their childhood as possible.

Here they are, in the Kruger National Park, taking a break from the hot sun:

I love how close they have become, always looking out for each other! ♥♥♥

Day 7/365 - Colour

I loved the colours in this photo!

Day 6/365 - Black and white of Kayli

Day 5/365 - Elephants in black and white

I have been missing in action for a few days, we had month-end at work and it was hectic to say the least.  But I'm back and trying to catch up!

As I promised myself I am trying to be creative in either what I shoot or how I process my photos.  So here's a photo of elephants taken in the Kruger National Park during our holiday.  I decided to do a black and white version of this and I like it so much I might just print it on canvas...

Johannesburg Maternity Photography - Gorgeous Mommy-to-Be

I took the following photos of a very close friend, about a month before her due date - she was looking absolutely gorgeous don't you think?  We had a lot of fun during this session!

Day 4/365 - Pro20 cricket Wanderers

We went to watch the Pro20 cricket match at Wanderers last night.  The Lions played against the Titans, and the Titans won at the end, but it was a very close game, very exciting near the end.

We saw these guys with their "morphsuits" on, they were a hit with the kids!  (although their faceless appearance scared a few of the smaller kids)  :-)

Johannesburg family photography: J turns one!

I had the privilege of taking photos of little J and his family at his 1st birthday party about two weeks ago.  He thoroughly enjoyed watching what was going on around him and he really loved his first taste of marshmellow!  J has the most gorgeous blue eyes, A & D I am sure he is going to break many hearts one day!

Day 2/365 - Rhino

Rhino, originally uploaded by Heidi Meintjes.
I really wanted to take a photo for the blog outside today, but we had a storm and we got home quite late. So I chose this photo of a rhino which I took during our trip to the Kruger National Park on 2 January this year.

I really love this animal, I think the rhino is proof that dinosaurs really existed. I cannot understand how people's lust for money can drive them to wipe out these magical animals, it is so sad that my grandchildren would probably never have the chance to see a rhino.

I chose to process this photograph with a texture, it nicely framed the animal and gave it that something special. I am still experimenting with textures but I do love how this one turned out!
