Day 8/365 - Kids
Here they are, in the Kruger National Park, taking a break from the hot sun:
I love how close they have become, always looking out for each other! ♥♥♥
Day 5/365 - Elephants in black and white
As I promised myself I am trying to be creative in either what I shoot or how I process my photos. So here's a photo of elephants taken in the Kruger National Park during our holiday. I decided to do a black and white version of this and I like it so much I might just print it on canvas...

Johannesburg family photography: J turns one!
Day 2/365 - Rhino
I really love this animal, I think the rhino is proof that dinosaurs really existed. I cannot understand how people's lust for money can drive them to wipe out these magical animals, it is so sad that my grandchildren would probably never have the chance to see a rhino.
I chose to process this photograph with a texture, it nicely framed the animal and gave it that something special. I am still experimenting with textures but I do love how this one turned out!

Johannesburg family photography: Family session at Botanical Gardens
What a lovely family, hope you had just as much fun as me!
Day 1/365 - 1 February 2011
I have decided to give the 365 project a try again. I want to get more creative in my photography, and I am going to use this platform to try and achieve this. I want to push myself past my current boundaries in order to discover the world in a new and creative manner.
The photo I am posting today was taken just before christmas, I loved the way the christmas lights added another dimension to a photo that would have been just another photo of a flower.

Little cutie pie
Just another pic of the little (almost) 2 year old I took pics of over the weekend. I love the smile on her face as well as the reflection of light in her beautiful eyes.
Project 365: Day 24
This pic was also taken this weekend, while relaxing on the patio at our favourite hotel. We stayed over at the hotel as it was valentines day, but also (more importantly) our 9th wedding anniversary on 10 February. Here Kayli was having a dreamy moment and I love that Jaclynn is also in the photo in the background.

Project 365: Day 23
Wow it's been a while! :-). But now I'm back.
I took photos of this beautiful little girl over the weekend. Gosh but it's hard to get a 2 year old to stand still/sit down/look at the camera! But it was a lot of fun and I got lots of cute photos of her and her family.

Project 365: Day 22
I've had a love/hate relationship with the rubicube forever! I started playing with it in Primary school and finally in Std 7 (Grade 9) I figured it out and I could solve it within a minute (can't remember the exact stats). But as with most things as soon as I solved it I lost interest and now years later I picked it up again and I know myself, I won't rest until I can solve the puzzle again. I can tell you though that it might take longer this time, my brain is not as sharp as it used to be - with today's technology I really think we neglect exercising our thinking caps! Maybe one day you'll see a wrinkled old lady sitting on a bench in the park trying to solve this - it will be me.

Project 365: Day 21
I took it tonight after looking around for something for quite a while. See, I decided to challenge myself a bit and take photos of shapes this week.
I eventually took a photo of a placemat, and as it was boring I added a bit of radial blur and bumped up the saturation a bit.
It's quite an interesting effect, I think it will make quite a nice print on canvas - might try it out (the circles almost look like it was formed with oil paint and a brush)
